In this module, your child’s creative ideas become a reality, progressing from concept and text to stage or screen. Our junior writers and directors take creative control from a young age, building confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills as they take turns directing their own stories and working with friends to stage original plays and films for an audience.

Your child will step into the role of writer and director, creating original scripts for stage or film. They learn how to develop a play or film storyboard, write a plot synopsis and character breakdowns, and produce a script with strong storylines and characters before moving into production. Our young directors immerse themselves in a world of intrigue and imagination, devising original stories to be staged, showcased, or screened as film projects. This is a defining module for our performers as they become artists in their own right, build resilience, understand what writers and directors look for, and develop into more rounded performers who can create plays and musicals as well as star in them. Our senior directors take responsibility for choosing actors, co-directors, stage managers, technical crew for lighting and sound, costume and props teams, and front-of-house roles. It is a thrilling experience that gives young people creative responsibility while they remain fully supported by our professional team. In this module, our seniors gain practical industry experience and knowledge, opening exciting new avenues to explore as possible future career paths.
